The Pop Up art show will include 24 posters, each focused on a different aspect of food sustainability

The show will include 24 posters, each focused on a different aspect of food sustainability. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and facilitate discussion. There will be presentations on the topic of food system sustainability in the ArkLaTex at noon and 5:30 p.m.

This show is the first of several events celebrating regional food and good nutrition in recognition of EatWell-LiveLocal month—a March observation inaugurated in Shreveport and Bossier City in 2011 to deepen the conversation around food system issues in our region.

The We Grow Together! Food Council seeks to implement the goal of a healthy regional food system in the ArkLaTex, a region that extends in a 100 mile radius from the Shreveport-Bossier metropolitan center.

Grow Together
This event is sponsored in part by the LSU AgCenter as part of the We Grow Together! Campaign

The group focuses on initiatives and policies that educate the community about food system issues, increase profitability for farmers, and remove barriers to acquiring healthy food. We Grow Together! encourages the development of urban and rural food hubs to serve as centers for local community access to healthful food and on-going education about nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
