Centenary appoints new Vice President for Enrollment

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College of Louisiana President David Rowe announced that Calhoun Allen, who recently joined the College as Associate Vice President for Marketing & Communication, assumed the role of Vice President for Enrollment on April 1. Allen's appointment to the new position came after a national search.

"While Calhoun's extensive background in marketing — including over 12 years in higher education marketing - made him an excellent fit for the Marketing & Communication position, he also previously served as Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment at Franklin University, an American liberal arts institution in Lugano, Switzerland," said Centenary President David Rowe. "His experience in that position, combined with his marketing background, has given Calhoun an unusually strategic skill set that will be of incredible benefit to Centenary."

Allen came to Centenary in March 2015 after having served in a number of leadership roles at Franklin University. Allen came to Franklin in the fall of 2001 as Executive in Residence in International Management with the responsibility of developing a strong marketing curriculum for the University. He also served as Senior Advisor to the president and as a member of Franklin's President's Cabinet, enjoying his contribution to many short- and long-term initiatives, including co-chairing sub-committees for Franklin's successful ten-year U.S. accreditation review by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in 2010.

Allen is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor of arts in history, political science, and English and a master of business administration.
