Centenary announces summer school course offerings

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College has announced course offerings for its two summer school sessions: June 3 to June 26 and July 1 to July 24. Registration deadline is the starting day of each session, but early registration is encouraged.

Summer School

Tuition for summer school courses is $350 per credit hour. Courses are open to current and incoming Centenary students as well as students from area high school and those attending other colleges who are home for the summer.

The following three-hour classes will meet five days a week June 4 to June 27:

8:30 — 10:30 a.m. — English 341: Ernest Hemingway and Jack London
8:30 a.m. — 11:30 p.m. — Computer Science 107: Explorations in Agent-Based Modeling
8:30 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. — French 101: Elementary French I and French 102
10:30 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. — Chemistry 105: Chemistry and Society

The following classes will meet five days a week July 8 to July 31:

8:30 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. — French 201: Intermediate French I and French 202
8:30 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. — Psychology 304: Statistics for Behavioral Science
8:30 — 10:00 a.m., 1 — 2:30 p.m. — Math 104: College Algebra (first-year friendly)
9:30 — 11:30 a.m. — English 301: African-American Literature
1:00 — 4:00 p.m. — English 100: Critical Reading and Writing (first-year friendly)

The French courses will be taught as one intensive course, giving students the opportunity to earn six credit hours in one summer session. Centenary in Paris-bound students are invited and encouraged to take this course to ready themselves for their immersive experience in August.
