Exhibit highlights Centenary Archives

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College of Louisiana Archives and Special Collections presents the exhibit Come and See the Centenary Archives online and in the Whited Room lobby of Bynum Commons from now until September 2015. The focus parallels the theme chosen for this year's Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, Come and See. Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey explained, "We will come together at Centenary College in Shreveport from June 7-10. We will see how others are offering Christ to the world, and explore new models for serving our communities."

The exhibit highlights activities that the department performs as the archival repository for the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Since 1963, the archives has served the Church's ministry of memory so United Methodists may learn from their past and anticipate their future.

This exhibit was researched and prepared by Centenary archivist Chris Brown and student worker Trey Davis. It features material from the Centenary College of Louisiana Archives and Special Collections.

The mission of the Centenary College Archives and Special Collections is to collect, preserve, and make available the historic records of the College and the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. For more information, contact Chris Brown at 318.869.5462 or email.
