Centenary welcomes new Associate Vice President for Marketing & Communication

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College of Louisiana recently announced the appointment of Tim Kershner as Associate Vice President for Marketing & Communication.

"I am thrilled to be at Centenary College," said Kershner. "The faculty and administration have created a distinctive college experience that challenges students through a global perspective. This perspective helps Centenary alumni stand out in graduate school and the workplace, and I look forward to celebrating and sharing these success stories."

Kershner joins Centenary from Mohave Community College in Kingman, Arizona, where he served as Director of Marketing and Public Information. He brings more than 30 years of public relations and marketing experience to his new role at Centenary, including more than 15 years in higher education. Kershner has previously served in chief public relations and marketing roles at Alvernia College in Pennsylvania, Frostburg State University in Maryland, and Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.

During his higher education career Kershner has managed numerous institutional awareness and outreach efforts, including initiatives to increase enrollment and media visibility. He has overseen web redesign projects and developed new policies to increase the use and effectiveness of social media.

"Tim's extensive background and demonstrated success in marketing and communication at both public and private colleges makes him a perfect fit for Centenary," said Fred Landry, Vice President for Advancement. "He will provide outstanding leadership for our talented Marketing & Communication team, and we are excited to welcome him to Shreveport and to the Centenary community."

Kershner is a graduate of Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
