The importance of French and Francophone education were among the many items discussed today when the French Consul General visited Centenary College of Louisiana.

Gregor Trumel, France's Consul General in New Orleans, met with Centenary President Dr. David Rowe on campus to recognize the deepening ties between the College and the consulate. Trumel also stopped at Centenary's Meadows Museum where the upcoming exhibition, "Sketches from the Trenches: Jean Despujols in World War I" opens November 7.

Dr. Rowe described Centenary's new four-year BA/MAT program which allows students to major in French and be certified to teach upon graduation. They also considered ways to improve the Centenary in Paris experience where first-year students spend an immersive term in France prior to their first campus semester.
