Centenary names new Director of Admission

Pete Colbert

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary recently welcomed Pete Colbert as the new Director of Admission. Colbert joined the College staff on December 1.

"Pete's liberal arts college background provides a strong appreciation for the merits of the liberal arts education, making him uniquely qualified to represent Centenary and increase the College's regional and national reputation as a leader in experiential education," says Calhoun Allen, Vice President for Enrollment at Centenary. "His strategic planning experience, coupled with his strong management and communication styles, make him an outstanding choice for the leader of the Admission team as well as a collaborative partner for other divisions of the College."

Colbert comes to Centenary from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, where he was Associate Dean of Admission. He has also served as an admission counselor, assistant director, and associate director at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia and brings 12 years of experience in admission management and student recruitment within a liberal arts environment to his new position at Centenary.

"I am thrilled to be a part of the Centenary College community. The dedication and enthusiasm of the faculty and staff at this institution are infectious and compelling. The welcome I received from my first moments on campus has been tremendous," said Colbert. "I look forward to introducing future generations of Ladies and Gents to the Centenary College family and the wealth of opportunities that a community with this level of engagement can provide."

Colbert is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.
