Centenary Fitness Center offers new programming for 2016

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary Fitness Center is once again lending a hand with local New Year's resolutions. The Center's annual January Special waives the membership sign-up fee for anyone who joins during the month of January 2016.

"Each new year is a clean slate for everyone to reevaluate their goals and make new plans to reach those goals," says Taylor Williams, Membership Coordinator. "Many people include health, weight loss, and fitness in their new year goals, and the Centenary Fitness Center is the right place to reach those goals! We offer cardio and weight lifting equipment, an indoor swimming pool, fitness classes, and a personal trainer to get you on track with your health and fitness goals."

In addition to the membership special, the Fitness Center will again offer swim lessons for ages 3 to 12, with sign-up beginning in January. The cost is $60/session, and each session runs for four weeks and includes one lesson per week. Each lesson will be 30 minutes long, and parents will be able to choose times between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for their child's lessons. In addition to an in-pool instructor and a general instructor overseeing all classes, two lifeguards will be on duty during all lessons. Parents can sign up online at centenary.edu/swim.

The Fitness Center also has a new certified personal trainer available to members. Trainer Jena Roberts can be reached at 318.347.1731 or bnshape2@aol.com.
