SHREVEPORT, LA -- William G. "Bill" Anderson, a member of the Centenary College Board of Trustees for the past 22 years, is the new chairman of the board following elections at the trustees' annual meeting.
Anderson, who is president of Anderson Oil and Gas, Inc., has been vice chairman of the board for the past four years. He succeeds Roy S. Hurley, who had served as chairman since 1995.
A 34-year trustee, Charles Ellis Brown, moved from the vice chairman of finance post to the vice chairmanship, while Edwin C. Harbuck, a trustee since 1990, joined the officers as vice chairman of finance. Brown is president of Bayou State Oil Corp., and Harbuck is manager of Harbuck & Ridley, LLC. All three are graduates of Centenary College.
Other officers who were re-elected are Taylor F. Moore, secretary, and Edward J. Crawford III, treasurer. Moore, also a Centenary College graduate, is president of Shreveport Baseball, Inc., and has been a member of the board since 1990. Crawford, managing partner of Atco Investment Co., has served since 1991.
