Centenary prepares to celebrate "There's No Place Like Homecoming"

Homecoming 2015

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College's 2015 Homecoming and Parents & Family Weekend is just around the corner, with events running Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25. The weekend promises special gatherings, reunions, sporting events, and a tailgate unified under the theme There's No Place Like Homecoming.

As in recent years, traditional Homecoming activities will complement Parents and Family Weekend events.

"We are prepared for another exciting and fun-filled Homecoming weekend with activities for every member of the family," said Director of Alumni & Family Relations Saige Solomon '05. "I am particularly thrilled to welcome members of my class specifically as we celebrate our 10th reunion."

Joining the Class of 2005, members from the Classes of 1975 and 1965 have also planned reunions. Additionally, the Geology department is celebrating its 75th Anniversary with a reception on Friday, a tour of the newly renovated Mickle Hall on Saturday afternoon, and a reunion dinner on Saturday night at the Petroleum Club.

The weekend will open with the annual Alumni Awards Luncheon on Friday at noon in the Fitness Center Gym.

Homecoming Week kicks off for students with a window-painting contest in the cafeteria on Wednesday, October 22, at 8 p.m. Other Homecoming events include the Alumni Awards Luncheon, un-parade, flag football games, tailgate, and memorial service at Brown Chapel.
